Available now Lean v1 can return this problem.

Meaning

A source the API depends on did not answer. The detail names it.

Likely causes

• Earth Search, the catalog lean v1 runs on, is slow or down.
• The renderer is switched off by the monthly spending stop.
• In later phases, NASA Earthdata or Planetary Computer.

Fix

Retry after Retry-After seconds, with backoff. GET /v1/health shows which check is failing.
